Nepal Cycle Festival 2020 to revive tourism
Tour will be of one week and the cyclist will be cycling from Mahendranagar, west to Pashupatinagar in the east
Kathmandu, Nov-4: Bicycle tour to be carried out from Mahendranagar to Pashupatinagar aka western to eastern Nepal which will be one of the longest bicycle tour carried out in the country in the time of pandemic.
Event was organized jointly by the tourism agency of the country in order to revive the tourism industry which have been crushed down after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Trekking Agencies association of Nepal (TAAN), Nepal Mountaineering Association (NAM) and Nepal association of Travels and Tours association (NATTA) have organized Bicyle tour in promotion of Nepal Tourism Board.
The Nepal Bicycle Tour started their cycling from Nepal Tourism Board's office. Board's CEO Mr. Dhananjaya Regmi saw off the cyclists. The cyclists will be cyling from Mahendranagar in the western part to the Pashupatinagar in the Eastern part of the country. Renowned Cyclist and Everest summiteer Pushkar Shah will be coordinating the cycle tour. The cyclists will over a distance of 1624 KM in their three weeks long sojourn.
Board's member Deepak mahat said that this bicycle tour would help tour would help breathe a new life into the COVID-19-affected tourism industry and promote the message of the Board throughout the country as the cyclist pedal through the length of the country.
Renowned cyclist and Everest summiteer Pushkar Shah will be coordinating the bicycle tour. The team will cycle through Thakurdwara, Nepalgunj, Birendranagar, Ghorahi, Swargadwari, Tauhihawa, Bhairahawa, Butwal, Tansen, Pokhara, Narayanghat, Hetauda, Birgunj, Lalbandi, Janakpur, Gaighat, Dharan, Biratnagar and Kakadvitta covering as many as 1,624 kilometres during their three-week-long tour.
The cyclists' team comprises Rajendra Sapkota, Shankar Adhikari, Mukti Pandey and Subhash KC among others
