Panch Pokhari becoming a major attraction to tourist in recent days
Kathmandu, Nov. 3: One of the nine high-altitude wetland areas of the world, Panch Pokhari, located at an altitude of about 4,100 meters is located in between Sindhupalchowk and Rasuwa District and it's a major destination of Langtang National Prak. Panch Phokhari is a famous Hindu pilgrimage site in Nepal. The chain of peaks called Jugal Himal that includes Dorje Lakpa (6966m) Madiya (6257m) and Phurbi Chhyachu (6,637 m) can be viewed from the location so in recent days become a popular choice for tourists.
This area has captured attraction for it offers natural as well as ecological trekking and cultural trekking route where one gets to walk by traditional Tamang village, and one can encounter the daily life of the locals aka Tamang in this region, Tamang heritage and culture can be explored. In some villages, there are Tamang Culture Homestay in operation, where one will be welcomed by the Tamang tradition and culture and can enjoy the Tamang dance and songs in the evening.
Both the Hindu and the Buddhist flock to this place for a fair during Janaipurnima, full moon day in August when the Hindu, especially Tagadhari, change their Holy Thread.
One can reach this place of majestic natural beauty from Chautara, district headquarters of Sindhupalchowk, through Sano Orkhin, Melamchi, and Botany village.
